YouTube creates a new generation
The mission of YouTube is to give everyone a voice and show them the world. But for people with limited internet access, there are barriers in place preventing them from experiencing this vision as a reality. YouTube Go aims to change this.
No matter who you are, or where you come from, everyone deserves the chance to discover a world of content. With access and connection come endless possibilities. In doing so, YouTube Go becomes a catalyst for conversation, connection, and shared moments.
In tandem with working on their Visual Identity, we were tasked to create a new app icon for YouTube Go, to replace their existing rocket which no longer felt rooted enough in the broader YouTube Go story and positioning. Our challenge was to create something universally recognisable, that succinctly and clearly captured the core benefits and brand attributes of YouTube Go.
At first glance, the logo resembles a fast “comet”. A simple take on this iconic shape - a circle with hints of speed.
